Cargo Packaging and Insurance

Protect Your Cargo, From Pack to Claim

Cargo damage is most often caused by inadequate packaging, not accidents. Our professional packing team prepares your goods to withstand the rigours of international sea and air freight: vibration, humidity, stacking loads, and port handling. Combined with all-risk cargo insurance at declared value, your shipment is protected end-to-end.

We provide export packing services at our facility and can mobilise a packing team to your premises for large or sensitive consignments. Our insurance brokerage partners with Lloyd's-backed underwriters to provide competitive all-risk marine cargo policies for single shipments and annual open covers.

Packaging & Insurance, FAQs

Yes. A freight forwarder's liability is governed by their standard trading conditions (typically per FIATA or equivalent industry standards) which limit liability to a very low amount per kilogram, often far less than your goods are worth. Cargo insurance at declared value is a separate product that covers the actual commercial value of your goods. We strongly recommend all cargo, regardless of mode, travels with insurance.
Yes. All timber used in our export crates is heat-treated in compliance with ISPM-15 (International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15) and stamped with the IPPC mark. This is a mandatory requirement for wooden packaging entering most countries, including the EU, USA, Australia, and China. We do not use untreated timber for export crates.
For standard cartonning and palletising, we can quote within 4 hours with cargo dimensions and weight. For custom wooden crating, allow 24 hours for the crate design and costing. For cargo insurance, we can provide an indicative premium within 2 hours for straightforward commodities, complex or high-value cargo may require underwriter referral and can take 24–48 hours.
