Approved Off-Dock Container Depot

Fort & Freight operates an approved off-dock container depot strategically positioned near major ports and logistics hubs. We provide empty container storage, washing, structural repair, pre-trip inspection (PTI), and redelivery services to shipping lines, leasing companies, and freight forwarders.

Our depot is approved by multiple international shipping lines and meets ISO container handling standards. Gate-in/gate-out transactions are fully digitised, clients receive automated status notifications at each stage.

Depot Services

Empty Container Storage

Secure yard storage for empty containers, ground stacked up to 4 high. Daily or monthly rates. Available for 20ft, 40ft, 40ft HC, and specialised units.

Container Washing

High-pressure interior and exterior washing, removes cargo residue, odour, and contamination. Fumigation available for pest-controlled commodities.

Structural Repair

Panel repair, floor replacement, door seal repair, corner post straightening, and painting, to IICL container inspection standard. Damage surveys available.

Pre-Trip Inspection (PTI)

Full PTI for reefer containers, compressor test, temperature pull-down, controller calibration, and refrigerant top-up. Certified PTI report issued.

Damage Survey

Independent condition survey on container arrival, documented with photos and IICL damage codes. Used for shipping line damage claims and lease returns.

Container Redelivery

Redelivery of empty containers to shipping lines, ports, or depots on request. Includes gate-out inspection, seal fitting, and EDI notification to the shipping line.

Interchange & Booking

You advise container number, size, and type. We issue an Equipment Interchange Receipt (EIR) booking reference and schedule the gate-in slot.

Gate-In & Survey

Container arrives, full photographic condition survey is conducted. Damage coded per IICL standard. EIR issued with container condition noted.

Service & Repair

Washing, fumigation, or structural repair is carried out as specified. For reefer units, PTI is performed and documented. Service report issued.

Storage or Redelivery

Container is placed in designated yard position or prepared for onward redelivery. Gate-out EIR issued on departure. EDI notification sent to shipping line.

Our depot is approved and works with MSC, Maersk, CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, Evergreen, Cosco, and several regional carriers. We are also approved for container leasing company returns (Triton, Textainer, CAI). Contact our depot manager to confirm approval status for your specific principal.

Yes. Beyond shipping line services, we provide container storage, washing, and repair to traders, logistics companies, and businesses that own or lease containers. Storage at our depot is often significantly cheaper than port CFS storage for private-owner containers awaiting repositioning or sale.

Yes. We undertake container modifications including office conversion (windows, doors, AC, electrical fit-out), site camp conversions, ventilated panels, partition walls, and shelving installation. Modified containers are popular for site offices, security kiosks, and pop-up retail units. Contact us with your specification for a conversion quote.
