Customs Clearing Services

Navigate Customs, Without the Complexity

Customs clearing is the highest-risk step in any import or export, errors, missing documents, or wrong HS codes lead to delays, penalties, and additional demurrage costs. Fort & Freight's licensed customs clearing agents have processed thousands of entries across major ports, airports, and inland container depots since our founding.

We handle import, export, transit, re-export, and warehousing entries, including complex multi-regime shipments involving Free Trade Zone (FTZ), Export Processing Zone (EPZ), and bonded warehouse regimes. Our pre-lodgement system means your entry is submitted to customs before the vessel berths, eliminating port delays.

Customs Clearing, FAQs

With complete documents and a pre-lodged entry (C1, customs channel Green), goods can be released within 24–48 hours of vessel discharge. Channel Yellow (document review) adds 2–3 days. Channel Red (physical examination) typically adds 3–5 days. We aim to pre-lodge all entries to maximise Green channel probability and minimise dwell time.
Yes. We clear air cargo at major international airports for both general cargo and courier consignments. Air freight clearance is typically faster than sea port, Green channel air entries are often released within 4–8 hours of flight arrival with complete documents.
Most countries restrict or require special permits for: pharmaceuticals (health authority registration), pesticides and agro-chemicals (regulatory certification), food and consumer goods (conformity certificates), weapons and explosives (government authorisation), wildlife products (CITES permits), and certain chemicals (environmental authority approval). We identify all applicable regulatory requirements during our pre-clearance document review and guide you on what to obtain before shipment.
