How Sea Freight Works

1

Book & Document

We book space with the shipping line, issue the booking confirmation, and guide you on required documents.

2

Stuffing & Customs

Container is stuffed, sealed, and lodged with customs. We handle all customs declarations and pre-clearance.

3

Load & Sail

Container is gated into port and loaded onto the vessel. Bill of Lading issued after vessel departure.

4

Arrive & Deliver

At destination, our agents or partners clear the cargo and deliver to your warehouse or consignee's facility.

Sea Freight, FAQs

FCL (Full Container Load) means you exclusively use an entire container, your cargo only. LCL (Less than Container Load) means your cargo shares space with other shippers' cargo in one container. FCL is better value from roughly 15 CBM upwards; LCL is more cost-effective for smaller shipments below that threshold.
For fully compliant, pre-lodged declarations, customs release typically takes 1–3 business days after vessel arrival. Green channel (no examination) can release within 24 hours. Red channel (physical examination) adds 1–3 days. We pre-lodge all documents before vessel arrival to minimise port stay and demurrage exposure.
Yes. We are IMDG Code-trained for sea shipment of dangerous goods, including flammable liquids, gases, oxidisers, and class 9 miscellaneous goods. We prepare and verify all DG declarations, packing certificates, and ensure the shipping line's DG acceptance requirements are met before booking.
Yes. We arrange sea freight to the nearest appropriate gateway port, customs transit bond, and onward road freight to Kampala, Kigali, Bujumbura, Juba, or any inland destination, managed as a single door-to-door shipment.
